In sabre fencing, where speed meets power, your guard must be fast, resilient, and reliable. Traditional sabre guards often use electroplated surfaces that fade over time, and standard aluminum tends to bend or dent under repeated impact. Titanium guards, while harder, lack flexibility — once fractured, they can become dangerous.
Purplerise redefines sabre performance. We use a reinforced aluminum-magnesium alloy that offers the perfect blend of lightweight strength and flexibility, making our guard more durable than standard aluminum and safer than brittle titanium.
Our guard features a 5–10 micron anodized coating, applied through a proprietary process that delivers deep, vibrant, and long-lasting color, while significantly increasing surface hardness to resist scratches and wear.
Tail-end innovation matters too. We’ve completely redesigned the back-end rubber socket (tail cap) using food-grade silicone — a material that’s not only softer and more environmentally friendly, but also thicker and ergonomically engineered to help shift the balance point slightly toward the rear, enhancing control and comfort during fast-paced bouts.
